Le Journal amusant was a French weekly publication created by Charles Philipon on January 5, 1856 in 8 large-folio pages and perhaps disappeared in December 1933, representing 86 years of publication. The journal was composed three-quarters of illustrations around social satire then comedy of manners with an increasing place given to theatre and fashion. In the 1860s, the editor-in-chief was Nadar.
