First edition. Half chocolate sheep binding, spine uniformly worn, boards lightly scratched, joints scraped, corners slightly bumped, spine decorated in blind, publisher's binding. Volume complete with its volume cover page, each issue comprising eight pages. Contributions by Charles Baudelaire, Théophile Gautier ("Goya") and Alexandre Dumas notably, drawings by Cham, Gustave Doré and Edmond Morin among others. Review illustrated with numerous full-page black and white engravings. Le Monde illustré was a weekly current affairs magazine published from 1847 to 1940 and from 1945 to 1956, notably directed by Paul Dalloz and Charles Yriarte.
