First edition. Half aqua green cloth binding, covers scuffed, spine slightly sunned, head slightly split, publisher's binding. Complete volume with its title page; each issue contains eight pages. Contributions by Gustave Aimard and Charles Yriarte among others, illustrations by Cham, Gustave Doré and Edmond Morin notably. Journal illustrated with numerous full-page engravings in black and white. Le Monde illustré was a weekly news journal published from 1847 to 1940 and from 1945 to 1956, directed notably by Paul Dalloz and Charles Yriarte.
