First edition. Full black cloth binding, smooth spine decorated with gilt arabesques, sextuple blind-stamped fillets framing the boards, title and vignette depicting an allegory of victory accompanied by a cherub stamped in gilt at the center of the front board, corners very slightly bumped, yellow paper pastedowns and endpapers, publisher's binding. Contributions by Paul Féval, Alexandre Dumas and George Sand among others. 8-page journal extensively illustrated with woodcuts by the greatest artists of the time. The leaf containing pages 781-782 is missing. Very handsome copy in its rare publisher's binding.
