Le Monde illustré is a weekly news journal published from 1847 to 1940 and from 1945 to 1956, it was directed notably by Paul Dalloz and Charles Yriarte. From its launch Le Monde illustré secured the collaboration of authors and artists such as Alexandre Dumas, Paul Féval, Théophile Gautier, George Sand, Cham, Gustave Doré...
