First edition. Full black cloth binding, smooth spine decorated with gilt arabesque tools, sextuple fillet stamped in blind framing the boards, title and vignette representing an allegory of victory accompanied by a cherub stamped in gilt at the center of the front board, yellow paper pastedowns and endpapers, publisher's binding. Contributions by Justin Améro, Jules Sandeau and Emmanuel des Essarts among others. 8-page journal extensively illustrated with woodcuts by the greatest artists of the time. Contrary to what the volume page indicates, this volume groups together all issues from December 1862 to May 1863. Very fine copy in its rare publisher's binding.
