First edition. Full black cloth binding, smooth spine decorated with gilt arabesque tools, six-fold blind-ruled frame to boards, title and vignette depicting an allegory of victory accompanied by a cherub stamped in gilt to center of front board, corners very slightly bumped and small stain to front board, yellow paper pastedowns and endpapers, publisher's binding. Contributions by Jules Noriac, Claude Bonin and Victorien Sardou among others. 8-page journal extensively illustrated with woodcuts by the greatest artists of the time. Contrary to what the title page indicates, this volume contains all issues from December 1859 to November 1860. Very handsome copy in its rare publisher's binding.
