It was as part of his philanthropic concerns that Piarron de Chamousset (1717–1773), who in fact practised medicine without holding any formal qualification, sought to establish the first mutual-aid association, comprising a dispensary, medical staff, and premises to accommodate the sick.

This text was later reprinted in the collection Vues d'un citoyen (Paris, Lambert, 1757). By the same author, we also offer following it: "Lettre à l'auteur de la critique du Plan d'une maison d'association".

A remarkable record of one of the most significant instances of international opinion manipulation carried out by China and North Korea in the early stages of the Korean War: as early as 1952, North Korean and Chinese officials (including Zhou Enlai) accused the American army of using "insect vectors" on a large scale to spread various diseases among the populations of Korea and Manchuria (plague, cholera, etc.).

Very rare essay on feeding bottles by the famous obstetrician Louis-Charles De­neux. He assisted the Duchess of Berry with the birth of the duke of Bordeaux, last legitimate descendant of Louis XV of France in the male line.

Presented before the Paris Academy of Medicine, of which he was a member of the surgical section, at the sessions of 12 and 19 February 1833. Deneux was the nephew and pupil of the famous Baudelocque, from whom he took courses in surgery and childbirth from 1782 to 1789.

First edition of this work published by the Société du Bout-du-Banc, the celebrated literary salon presided over by Mademoiselle Jeanne-Françoise Quinault and the Comte de Caylus. Rare first edition of this small practical Malagasy–English lexicon compiled by the Protestant missionary Joseph Stickney Sewell (1819–1900), who was active in Madagascar between 1867 and 1876; although a Quaker, he was employed by the Anglican London Missionary Society.

In reality, he had undertaken no formal studies.

The album comprises 268 small, mounted, colour stickers, each captioned and arranged in strict chronological order of events, including 16 portrait plates of the principal figures (the Castro brothers, Camilo Cienfuegos, Ernesto "Che" Guevara, Faure Chaumont, Rolando Cubelas, Victor Bordon, Eloy Gutierrez, Crecencio and Faustino Perez, etc.).

The work deals exclusively with the canonical prohibition on clergy wearing wigs; one section is devoted to liturgical and extra-liturgical headgear: birettas, mitres, almuces, hoods, camails, amices, caps, and skullcaps.

Abbot Jean-Baptiste Thiers (1636–1703) was among the most original and learned theologians of the seventeenth century; throughout his life he opposed superstition and the misuse of religious practices.
