Autograph letter signed by Marcel Proust, two pages written in black on two leaves of watermarked "Imperial diadem" paper, with his autograph address "102 boulevard Haussmann". The two leaves are detached along the fold, a usual trace of horizontal fold, adhesive trace on the back.
Not included in his correspondence edited by Philip Kolb.

Lettre autographe signée de Victor Hugo, écrite depuis Hauteville House, datée de la main de l'auteur du 7 juillet [1865 ?]. 1 pages à l'encre noire sur un feuillet de vergé bleu. Traces de plis transversaux inhérentes à l'envoi. Infimes trous causés par la pression de la plume de l'écrivain. Une légère tache transparente en pied.

Contemporary full navy blue shagreen binding. Spine with false flat raised bands decorated with grotesque compartments. Boards stamped in blind with a large central decorative frame with multiple borders, in blind, with triple gilt fillets, bold... Interior frieze. Edges gilt. Signs of rubbing.
