Autograph inscription signed by Pierre Loti to Alphonse Cillière, French consul in Trebizond during the Armenian massacres of 1894-1896 ordered by the Red Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the first step in a genocidal escalation that would culminate in 1915.
Our copy contains an autograph note signed by Pierre Loti to Alphonse Cillière (envelope included, the ensemble mounted on tabs) in which he expresses his wish, before leaving France, to meet his correspondent.
