Short but important autograph letter signed by Maurice Utrillo, addressed to a friend named Robert, 9 lines written in black ink in the middle of an autograph draft probably in the hand of his correspondent. The manuscript, in the middle of which the letter is written, deals with the world of painters and notably mentions Lucie Utrillo-Valore, Maurice Utrillo and Kees van Dongen. The letter is signed Maurice Utrillo V, this last letter in homage to his mother the painter Suzanne Valadon. Maurice Utrillo praises his wife's work, also a painter, and is full of praise for her gifts: "... ma femme Lucie est un dessinateur et un peintre portraitiste qui me semble posséder un talent réel. C'est un miracle de Dieu..." ("... my wife Lucie is a draughtsman and portrait painter who seems to me to possess real talent. It is a miracle of God...")
