Contemporary half burgundy shagreen, spine lightly faded and divided by four raised bands ruled in gilt, compartments richly tooled in gilt with typographic ornaments, gilt initials and decorative tailpiece at foot, one joint skilfully restored at the foot, a few rubs to the spine, burgundy embossed paper boards framed with gilt fillets, orange endpapers and pastedowns decorated with blind-stamped floral motifs, all edges gilt, an attractive Romantic-period binding.
Occasional foxing, as usual, internal hinges split.
