Collection of speeches, public declarations and political writings intended for the Chamber of Peers, the Constituent Assembly or the Legislative Assembly, written before Victor Hugo's exile. First published by Michel Lévy frères in 1875, it was subsequently incorporated into the collection of the author's illustrated complete works, a venture launched by the publisher Eugène Hugues in 1876.
