Recueil méthodique des lois, décrets, règlements, instructions et décisions sur le cadastre de la France
Contemporary half black calf binding with small corners. Smooth spine decorated with fillets. Red morocco title label. Binding rubbed overall. A grey stain in outer margin on the first 3 leaves, the rest relatively fresh.
It was in 1808 that France would see its first cadastral decree for the entire territory, an idea that dated back to Colbert, but which had never been realized. This publication is the first systematic classification of all articles of law since the first general decree of 1808. It extends to all features of the territory, houses, castles, copses, meadows, woods..., and forms an eloquent testimony to the administration under the Empire.
