Contemporary full speckled brown sheep bindings. Smooth spines decorated with a tool and 2 compartments with grotesques, roulettes. Tawny morocco title labels, and black sheep volume labels. Tear with lack to the volume label of volume 5. Set rubbed. Several corners bumped. Last leaf of volume 1 backed and bearing a tear.
A virtuous father versed in the arts decides, after acquiring a cottage in an idyllic location, to take care of the education of his 4 children aged 12 to 14. Each episode illustrating a feeling or quality (Self-esteem, benevolence...) is a story intended for moral education: meeting a beggar, a worker, a student... The collection would have quite great success and takes up Rousseau's precepts of education in the countryside.
