First edition from the Didot press of Bond's commentary. Printed on blue-tinted paper. Main text within a frame, with commentary distributed around it in smaller type. 11 title vignettes. Contemporary full brown morocco binding with red morocco doublure decorated on pastedowns, signed E. Gougeon (Algiers). Smooth spine in Jansenist style. Title and date in gilt. Richly decorated pastedowns with central frame, fleurons in the corners and several successive frames; wide frieze. At the center the initials C. de G. All edges gilt. Cut to margin of half-title, lacking the right corner. Title page creased and reinforced, same for the last leaf. Light rubbing at head. Handsome copy. Life of Horace by Noël du Verger.
