Autograph letter signed by Antoni Tàpies addressed to Georges Raillard, his close friend and foremost French specialist of his work. 1 page and 1/4 written in ballpoint pen. Envelope included.
The Catalan artist writes to his friend notably to share his reactions regarding the publication of the monograph dedicated to him which would appear the following year: "Je profite pour t'exprimer combien j'ai été content en lisant et regardant finalement sans interruption le texte et les images que tu as choisi dans la monographie. Je suis convaincu que tu as écrit et organisé le meilleur livre qu'on a fait sur moi, le plus complet, le plus agrécif (sic) et que mieux montre mes intentions, mes tourments et mes égarements. Merci mil (sic) fois, cher Georges. Je sais que ça t'a donné beaucoup de travaill (sic), mais ça valait la peine !" ["I take this opportunity to express how pleased I was reading and finally looking through without interruption the text and images you chose for the monograph. I am convinced that you have written and organized the best book that has been made about me, the most complete, the most aggressive (sic) and which best shows my intentions, my torments and my wanderings. Thank you a thousand (sic) times, dear Georges. I know it gave you a lot of work (sic), but it was worth it!"]
