Autograph letter signed and dated by Antoni Tàpies addressed to his close friend the art critic Georges Raillard, the leading French specialist on his work (12 lines in blue ballpoint pen from Barcelona). Crease mark inherent to the folding of the letter for mailing, envelope included. Having directed the French Institute of Barcelona from 1964 to 1969, Georges Raillard became friends and collaborated with numerous Spanish and Catalan artists including Joan Miro and Antoni Tapies, whose biographies he would also write. The Catalan artist sends his friend Georges Raillard an article published in a magazine which they had already discussed; he also asks him if he can take care of translating one of his articles to appear in la Quinzaine :"... je pense que reelement (sic) il y a quelque chose de general que peut interesser en France (sic)." ["... I think that really there is something of general interest for France."]
