Only edition in French of this history which deals with relations between European powers, England in particular, in the second half of the 17th century. L'histoire du temps was an English political gazette on several sheets, the first volume thus contains 30 issues with title page for each issue, from May 15 to November 27, 1689, the whole gathering 150 issues of 12 pages. The periodical appeared in London and Amsterdam, translated from the English of Mercurius Reformatus, or the New Observator.
James Welwood (1652-1727), English physician who reportedly studied at Leiden, became upon his return to London, in 1690, physician to King William III and Queen Mary.
