Full glazed blonde calf binding. Spine with raised bands decorated with crowned cipher. Arms stamped on covers with triple gilt fillet frame. Headcaps worn. Joints cracked and split. Corners slightly bumped.
Chamberlayne's book first appeared in 1668 in London and was updated many times; it forms a sort of royal almanac and tourist guide to England, but infinitely more detailed; it became the reference manual on England in Europe as it indeed contains an incredible quantity of very diverse information, moreover established with the greatest seriousness.
