First collective edition under the title of Works and first illustrated edition (Clouzot), including several texts in the first edition. The book was not originally include 17 volumes, but Houssiaux editor, following on from previous publishers, completed by the last three volumes that constitute here the volumes 18, 19 and 20.
Bound in brown half shagreen, back with four nerves decorated with three golden florets, guards and contreplats mottled paper to the tank. It lacks the table at the end of Volume 11.
The series is illustrated with a set of 151 etchings by Daumier, Gavarni, Nanteuil, Monnier, Johannot etc. of the 152 listed by Clouzot (missing one found in Volume 2). Our copy is complete many of Volume 13 6 figures that almost always lacking and 5 figures of Volume 17, which are often absent, having been delivered after that. In addition, Volume 17 is the date 1848, not 1849 element, as Clouzot signal, is particularly remarkable for its rarity.
