Sans dessus dessous is a science fiction novel in which certain characters from De la Terre à la Lune reappear. Jules Verne depicts the gunners of the Gun-Club of Baltimore planning, by means of a cannon shot, to straighten the Earth's axis of rotation to make it perpendicular to the plane of the ecliptic.
Le Chemin de France relates the adventures of Natalis Delpierre, a French soldier visiting his sister in Prussia when the Franco-Prussian conflict breaks out. The story takes place in 1792. While Natalis Delpierre, a soldier in the French army, is in Prussia visiting his sister, war breaks out between France and Prussia; Delpierre and his friends must then find a way to return to France.

L'Étoile du Sud is an adventure novel by Paschal Grousset, sold to publisher Hetzel, then reworked and signed by Jules Verne. The action takes place in Griqualand in South Africa where mining engineer Cyprien Méré conducts organic chemistry studies on diamond deposits. He succeeds in creating a synthetic diamond, the black star, which many will seek to appropriate.

Illustrated edition by Robida, first printing with 49 plates (8 in color, 35 in camaieu and 6 in black), and numerous text illustrations (approximately 600).
Publisher's polychrome illustrated boards signed Souze and bound by Engel. Special gilt and blue plate on red ground. Spine similar. Rear board with a half-timbered house in a central roundel and blind angular cornerpieces.

The Frenchman Henri Vidal comes to find his brother to attend his wedding, which will be disrupted by Wilhelm Storitz, determined to take revenge for having been rejected and whose power is to make himself invisible. This novel originally written in 1898 was revised by Paul Verne. The Invisible Man by Wells had appeared in 1897. This is the second work where such a phenomenon is treated. This novel was adapted for French television in 1967.

The original title of the novel was to be Lady Franklin, as Jules Verne wished to write a tribute to all women in general and to Sir John Franklin's wife in particular, who devoted her life to finding her husband who disappeared on the path to conquering the North Pole and also devoted her entire fortune to this cause, unfortunately in vain.

The depletion of stock while the new chosen bindings would be those "Au globe doré" surely led to these small modifications, very rare and curious for the collector.
