Hetzel publisher's "globe doré" binding in full red percaline signed Engel, first cover polychrome signed Blancheland depicting various gilt navigation instruments in a frame of gilt chains surmounted by green plants, second cover of type "h" as indicated by Jauzac, spine with lighthouse decorated with several illustrations in color and gilt, original blue endpapers, all edges gilt.
Spine uniformly but slightly faded and somewhat rubbed at head and foot, a small tear on the second cover, blue endpapers slightly sunned at margins, as usual.
