Half glazed navy calf binding, smooth spine decorated with a gilt cartouche adorned with gilt arabesques, light rubbing traces on the joints, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, contemporary Romantic binding.
Work also illustrated with more than 100 in-text wood-engraved vignettes.
Some minor foxing, handsome copy in contemporary Romantic binding, complete with its tissue guards protecting the 10 hors-texte plates, which is rare.
