Half dark brown morocco over marbled paper boards by P. Goy & C. Vilaine, spine in six compartments, brown paper endpapers and pastedowns, covers and spines (a few wormholes to covers, spine sunned) preserved, top edge gilt.
Handsome autograph inscription signed by Joseph Kessel to his friend Henri Béraud : " A toi, mon très cher Henri, dont le nom est en tête de ce livre. Avec mon affection [For you, my dear Henri, whose name is at the very start of this book. With all affection]."
A little light foxing.
A nicely bound copy.
First edition, of which there were no large paper copies.
Contemporary half dark green shagreen over marbled paper boards, spine in six compartments with gilt floral motifs, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, three corners bumped.
A little light insignificant spotting.
