Autograph letter signed by Charles Monselet, 10 lines in black ink on a double sheet.
A light stain at the top of the third and fourth pages of the double sheet.
Feeling sad, Charles Monselet flees Lyon to take refuge in Marseille: "Je verrai votre frère à mon retour de Marseille, où je vais dissiper mes chagrins..." ("I will see your brother upon my return from Marseille, where I am going to dispel my sorrows...")
In order to temper the sadness of his words, the poet wishes the best for his correspondent: "Dieu vous tienne en joie, mon cher ami..." ("May God keep you in joy, my dear friend...")

Autograph signed sonnet by Charles Monselet entitled "Le sonnet du cochon".
The poem, 17 lines in black ink on one leaf, appeared in 1854 in "Sonnets gastronomiques" under the title "Le cochon":

Set of beautiful freshness, but some pale browning in the margins at the beginning of the work. The preserved cover restored with a strip of paper to be restored. Inversion of leaves at the beginning of the work, leaf 3 appearing before leaf 1.
