    Autograph letter signed by Charles Monselet, 10 lines in black ink on a double sheet.
    A light stain at the top of the third and fourth pages of the double sheet.
    Feeling sad, Charles Monselet flees Lyon to take refuge in Marseille: "Je verrai votre frère à mon retour de Marseille, où je vais dissiper mes chagrins..." ("I will see your brother upon my return from Marseille, where I am going to dispel my sorrows...")
    In order to temper the sadness of his words, the poet wishes the best for his correspondent: "Dieu vous tienne en joie, mon cher ami..." ("May God keep you in joy, my dear friend...")
