Very fine first plate, with sharp gilt. Corners slightly rubbed. Spine somewhat faded. Headcaps sunken. Rear board good but with some soiling, and the cloth along the lower joint narrowly split for 5cm. Paper fresh and bright, free from foxing. Volume solid and tight throughout. Fine copy overall.
Adventure novel devoted to the question of slavery, and more particularly the slave trade by Africans themselves. This is one of Verne's finest stories, one where the narration is most accomplished.
