First edition of this famous literary pamphlet published under a pseudonym and savaging the greatest names of French Romanticism. Bradel binding in green half-cloth, smooth spine, date and place gilt at foot, hazelnut shagreen title-label with minor scratches, marbled paper boards, original wrappers preserved, binding signed by Petitot. Small stains at foot of first cover and first leaves. The first cover bears a scathing judgment on this work, a previous owner also specified the true name of the author hiding behind the pseudonym Van Engelgom. Rare. Provenance: from the library of Paul Lacombe with his handsome engraved bookplate illustrating the Pont-Neuf seen from the bouquinistes of Quai Conti.
