Issues 1 to 30 (without No. 19) of this rare journal. Head of the collection, 36 issues were published in Year VII and 5 issues in Year VIII. Tourneux, I, 708, indicates that "the B.N. catalogue has recorded various incomplete printings of the Bulletin Décadaire".

"The Executive Directory will give the necessary orders for the publication and dispatch to each municipal administration of a décadaire bulletin. This bulletin will make known at the same time acts of bravery and actions suited to inspire civism and virtue. It will contain, moreover, an instructive article on agriculture and mechanical arts". The 30 issues correspond to the republican year, from September to August.

This parliamentary prosecutor emigrated in 1791, he wrote several royalist and legitimist works during the revolutionary period, he would not return to Paris until the Restoration.

Without prejudice for the period, and judging things essentially as a naturalist, observing and comparing facts to his knowledge, this history of woman, not only through history but according to nations (the Hottentots are often studied) is fascinating in more ways than one, notably because the author never falls into pure naturalism but always questions the relationship of a fact to all the components of the feminine being, components as much social, vestimentary, cultural as traditional and physical. The hygiene treatise forming the third volume is a physiological treatise, Moreau analyzing the consequences of this physiology on behavior, sensitivity and feminine particularities.

The notice on the physical conformations of the peoples of Egypt relates more to aesthetic considerations. The second text discusses the history of a forgotten province of Egypt and recounts the author's journey. Interesting considerations on the tanning of hides in Egypt, particularly on morocco leather. The Meqyâs is the famous nilometer located on the island of Roudah. The work begins with a history of travellers in Egypt and the interest that can be found in reading these voyages. The numerous bibliographical notes prove very useful.

The first text, by a convinced Bourbon supporter, narrates Napoleon's return to Paris and the king's flight. The second addresses a plea to the king on the sale of national property carried out since the Revolution. The third text examines under public law the question of the alienation of émigrés' property and their restitution. The last text narrates in a lyrical style those émigrés who were the king and his court in 1815. It goes without saying that all authors condemn Napoleon Bonaparte without reservation in the strongest terms.

Second edition after a first of 1790 which is rarely found. Original wrappers, greyish paper. Various minor accidents to covers. Mounier remained a monarchist deputy and thought that only a constitutional monarchy, following the model of England, could spread liberty and happiness to the people. In the aftermath of the revolutionary events of October 5 and 6, 1789 when the king was brought back from Versailles to Paris amid numerous pillaging, Mounier pressed for the assembly of the third estate so that it might finally give a constitution to France. Under threat, he took refuge in Geneva and had this work printed against the report of the constituent assembly president Chabroud regarding these events. Mounier re-examines all the facts, including the accusation and defense of the Duke of Orléans and the participation of the Count of Mirabeau in this affair. He shows fine impartiality or very subtle rhetoric.

The Observations are a defense of the Count of Saint-Priest, who in 1789 was the first Minister of the Interior, against the calumnious attacks of Mirabeau. Saint-Priest would resign to the king in 1790, following Necker. Le Songe d'un anglais was written in the aftermath of the indictment of Louis XVI, imprisoned for 4 months. In his dream, the author attributes to the British sovereign words of indignation and the acts he would implement against France.

Born in 1746, Lavicomterie had begun his career as an author with strictly literary works, but at the time of the Revolution, his anticlericalism and anti-royalism brought him to the position of deputy where he voted for the death of Louis XVI. Besides the crimes of the popes, Lavicomterie would publish other highly engaged works such as the Crimes of the German Emperors, the crimes of the Turkish emperors as well as the crimes of the kings of France.
