First edition.
Bradel binding in half sienna cloth, smooth spine decorated with gilt floral motif, double gilt fillets at foot, bronze shagreen title-label, marbled paper boards, orange paper endpapers and pastedowns, contemporary binding.
Some foxing mainly at beginning and end of volume, gift inscription in ink from a previous owner of the work.
Work illustrated with a frontispiece statue of Marshal Bosquet.
