Autograph autobiographical note by Roland Barthes, 15 lines written in blue ink on a piece of paper pasted onto a sheet, probably written for an Italian edition of his forthcoming text, certainly "L'Empire des signes" published in 1970 or "Sade, Fourier, Loyola" published in 1971.
The sheet, with one crossed-out line and an addition, was crumpled as if to be thrown in the wastebasket to be restarted.
The manuscript notes succinctly mention Roland Barthes' date of birth and nationality to emphasize, in greater detail, his career as a professor. They conclude with a dated enumeration of his previous works translated into Italian.
