New edition, after the original published in 1766, in Berlin. It is illustrated with a large folding plate containing 22 Masonic emblems. The first edition contains a frontispiece, which may be missing from this new edition. Half red shagreen binding ca 1860. Spine with false flat raised bands decorated with fillets. Red shagreen title label. Evidence of rubbing, particularly at head. Title page yellowed. Some foxing. The work begins with a history of Freemasonry, followed by the detailed study of the following 7 Scottish high degrees: Perfect elected Mason, elect of P., elect of the 15, small architect, grand architect, knight of the sword and Rose-Cross, Noachite or Prussian knight. The Noachite is the work of Karl Fr. von Köppen.
