From his Parisian residence, the Sâr Péladan thanks his correspondent for the energy he put into seeing Sémiramis mounted and performed, probably in the city of Nîmes: "... je vous rends grâce, comme je dois ; car sans savoir les épisodes et les péripéties, je suis sûr qu'il vous a fallu déployer cette volonté qui est votre originalité & sur laquelle je m'appuyerai encor..." ["... I give you thanks, as I must; for without knowing the episodes and turns of events, I am certain that you had to deploy that will which is your originality & on which I shall rely again..."]
