At the beginning of the volume, the index listing the engraved portraits has been marked with blue ink in the left margin of each name.
Some foxing, three lacks at head and foot of spine, small tears and marginal lacks to the dusty angular boards, two portraits (out of 15) are missing from our copy: that of Robespierre jeune and that of Georges Couthon.
