Publisher's half black glazed sheep with corners. Spine with false raised bands richly decorated. Red morocco title label. Rolled border on boards and corners. Rubbing and surface abrasions along joints. Some occasional foxing, notably on verso of full-page plates. Handsome copy.
History, physical and human geography, art, of all the remarkable places (cities, monuments, men...) of Great Britain. Excellent publication, very well documented and illustrated covering all of Great Britain (Ireland, Scotland, etc.); it is said to have been printed in only 1000 copies. The publisher repeated this type of publication by producing Old and New London, a few years later.
