Full midnight blue morocco bindings, spines with four raised bands, dates gilt at foot, gilt roulettes on headcaps, midnight blue silk endpapers, midnight blue morocco doublures, covers and spines preserved for each volume, double gilt fillets on edges, all edges gilt, slipcases backed with midnight blue morocco, cat's-eye paper boards, slipcases with minor scratches, perfect set by Huser. Rare dated autograph inscription signed by André Gide on the first volume: "Je charge ce petit livre de mes cordiales salutations à Mr M. Révillon d'Apreval. André Gide. Juin 1946." ["I entrust this little book with my cordial greetings to Mr M. Révillon d'Apreval. André Gide. June 1946."] Magnificent copy bound in full morocco with doublures by Huser containing a rare signed autograph inscription on this text evoking the author's discovery of his homosexuality.
