Rare and sought-after first edition, noted by Clouzot, particularly desirable in a contemporary binding.
Half brown shagreen bindings, spines with four raised bands decorated with gilt fillets and double gilt panels, strictly contemporary bindings.
It seems the binder was not a regular reader of the great writer, as he stamped "T. Gaultier" as the author on the spine.
A very handsome copy in notably appealing condition.
