Full red morocco binding, spine with five raised bands ornately decorated with double gilt compartments richly decorated with grotesques, gilt roulettes on headcaps, double gilt fillet frame on boards, watered pistachio silk endpapers and pastedowns, wide gilt dentelle border on pastedowns, covers and spine preserved, all edges gilt, red morocco-backed slipcase, cat's-eye paper boards, white felt interior, slipcase split at foot, very elegant period binding signed by Huser. Autograph inscription dated and signed by Paul Claudel to Henri Burnand. Very fine copy of the deluxe issue with an autograph inscription signed by Paul Claudel in a perfect full morocco binding by Huser, one of the most talented binders of his time.
