Publisher's binding in full royal blue percaline, smooth unlettered spine, front cover ornamented with a large polychrome and gilt plaque on the upper board depicting Louis XIV on horseback haloed by the sun, gilt paper endpapers, corners very slightly bumped, binding signed Engel.
The blue silk ribbons are damaged and missing from the right margin of the boards.
Bookplate pasted on one pastedown.
