A substantially cropped print bearing the same penciled number on the back of our photograph (11214), is in the Reutlinger archives at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Album Reutlinger de portraits divers vol. 53, p.3). We have been unable to find any other examples of this photograph in other public collections. A similar photograph belatedly dedicated to Maurice Chevalier went on sale in 2008.

Original photo - Christopher Street Liberation Day March, New York - "The Kiss, Judy Bowen and Philip..."On June 28, 1970, I attended the first New York Gay Pride March. The date marks the first anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which launched the LGBTQ+ liberation movement in the U.S. We left from Christopher Street, a gay cultural mecca in Greenwich Village, and walked up 6th Avenue to Central Park. To end the day, a kissing contest was held in the middle of the park! It was a great moment of joy, love and freedom. This couple, who kissed for hours under an umbrella, obviously didn't care about photographers" (Interview with Clément Thierry, 2021)

A precious and moving inscription by General de Gaulle, on the verso of the album's title page, containing seventeen views of châteaux in the Loire valley: "Offered by my dear niece Geneviève", signed with his initials. It is with these very words that he presented her his war memoirs: "To my dear niece Geneviève, who was, at once, to the very end, on the brink of death, a soldier of Free France, and whose example has served me."
Autograph postcard, signed "Alain", addressed to Lucien Daniaux in Papeete, Tahiti, written on the reverse of a photographic portrait of a smiling young Polynesian woman. Stamp of Australian Papua, postal marks, English censorship stamp ("passed by censor").
Sent a few months before his death, this postcard documents the final journey of the French traveller, undertaken amid the hostile climate of the Second World War.

Albumen print mounted on the Nadar studio card. Maupassant is shown bust-length in left profile. The mount bears the printed name "P. Nadar" at the head and the studio signature printed in red in the lower margin. The verso gives the addresses 51 rue d'Anjou and 53 rue des Mathurins, together with Paul Nadar's distinctions at the 1900 Exposition Universelle: hors concours, member of the jury, Class XII.

Original photographic portrait of the Arab leader at one of his hideouts in Jordan, taken by reporter Geneviève Chauvel for the French press photography agency Gamma. According to Hubert Henrotte, she was the only photographer Yasser Arafat agreed to meet during that period.

In this handsome portrait, Mai-Thu is surrounded by his paintings on silk - no fewer than seven, including a children scene closely related to his 1965 masterpiece (Aguttes sale, September 26, 2023). The great themes that made the Hanoi School painter famous are to be found here: ideal women, children's games, tea ceremonies... Each canvas is carefully framed, often in Mai-Thu's own tireless perfectionist hands.
