Humorous original multicolored drawing executed in colored pencils and addressed to his great friend Carlo Rim representing the latter in a coffin and receiving the homage of the French nation, an official solemnly pronouncing: "Il aimait trop les rébus" ["He loved puzzles too much"]. The drawing is on letterhead from Henry-Paul Gassier's Marseilles address, with folding trace inherent to postal mailing. Epistolarily testing Carlo Rim's lively wit, Henry-Paul Gassier enjoyed corresponding in the form of puzzles with his friend and fellow caricaturist. Carlo Rim was a Provençal writer, author of "Ma belle Marseille", a caricaturist, a filmmaker and was notably the friend of Fernandel, Raimu and Marcel Pagnol but also of Max Jacob and André Salmon whom he met in Sanary.
