Les maris vengés

Rare suite of 21 lithographs bringing together the complete set of 18 engravings of the avenged husbands, including 3 in double state (the second state in colors), the third in double state with two different colored printings. In total 8 lithographs hand-colored.
To assemble this complete collection of the series, the collector naturally drew from those published only in Le Charivari, numbers 13, 14 and 16. All engravings bear the same publisher's address and are numbered from 1 to 18 (except one numbered by hand, and the last bearing no number): Chez Aubert, Galerie Vero Dodat.
Modern binding, in imitation of a contemporary binding, in half-green cloth, the boards of oiled cloth with multiple blind rules. Gilt title on spine and upper board. 8 engravings mounted on leaves corresponding to the size of the largest loose engravings. Numbers 1 and 4 showing some browning, the others quite fresh, on heavy paper, except for those extracted from Le Charivari.
