Bindings of midnight blue morocco with corners, spine with 5 raised bands, author, title and volume numbering gilt, marbled paper sides, marbled paper endpapers and doublures, top edges gilt.

A few small rubbed spots, spines a little sunned, some foxing, chiefly to the edges, faint pencil marks to a few leaves.

Bound in full dark green morocco, spine with five raised bands ruled in gilt dots and decorated with double gilt compartments embellished with gilt floral motifs, place and date gilt at foot, gilt rolls to the spine ends, minor rubbing to the bands and joints, covers framed with triple gilt fillets, comb-marbled endpapers and pastedowns, wide gilt dentelle border to the pastedowns, double gilt fillets to the edges, all edges gilt, a superb contemporary binding signed Chambolle-Duru.

Autograph inscription signed by Edmond Rostand to Charles Bergier: "... témoignage de vieille et sincère affection..."

First edition, one of three or four cop­ies printed on vellum skin, the most limited issue. A few copies printed on japon, 12 on Whatman, 12 on chine, and 350 copies on laid paper. Edited by Philippe Burty, the book features 42 sonnets and as many original etchings.
Contemporary full dark purple morocco binding, slightly recolored spine with five raised bands, gilt title, purple wa­tered-silk pastedowns and endleaves followed by vellum endleaves, inner gilt dentelle, sides and spine-ends framed in gilt, all edges gilt, marbled paper slip­case bordered in purple mo­rocco, binding signed by Au­guste Petit.

First trade edition, with the title page printed in black and red, issued after the exceedingly rare original edition limited to 10 copies.

Half navy blue shagreen binding, spine slightly faded with five raised bands, gilt date at the foot, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, original wrappers sunned and restored spine, preserved, gilt top edge.

Pleasant copy illustrated with ornamental initials, headpieces, and tailpieces.

Contemporary half grey morocco binding with corners. Slipcase with morocco entry and covered with peacock-eye paper. Original wrappers preserved, lacking spine. Spine with 4 raised bands in Jansenist style. Top edge gilt. Uncut paper, with wide margins, fresh paper, free from foxing. Light rubbing to slipcase.
