Silk-screen printed on strong beige paper. Very small traces of foxing to head, otherwise a magnificent and very rare copy.

Binding half percaline indigo, smooth back with a gold central floret, double gold mesh tail piece as long marine morocco grain, marbled paper plates, corners lightly used not serious, contemporary binding. Rare and precious autograph signed by the author to his close friend, the cellist (Ernest) Desmarest a pencil on the title page: "my friend Desmarest, souvenir of an old and faithful affection H. Berlioz." . Often cited by biographers, the correspondence between Berlioz and his faithful accomplice is an important source of information about the work and master of artistic questions, as this letter written from 1841 to 1842 during his first stay in Germany: "A moment I sat down, broken dashed, and asking me if I had any plant there and leave Berlin the same evening I have thought of you in the wrong time, saying: -. Persist is madness Oh! if Desmarest was here, he is never happy with rehearsals of the Conservatory, and if he saw me determined to leave announce the concert tomorrow, I know what he would do, he would lock myself in my room, put the key in his pocket, and bravely go tell the manager of the theater that the concert can not take place. First edition, one of 230 numbered copies on alfa paper. Bradel binding of half black morocco over marbled paper boards by the workshop of Boichot, gilt date to foot of spine, covers and spine conserved (spine sunned), top edged gilt. A very good copy in a nice binding.
