Handwritten presentation signed by Tomi Ungerer, signed Tomi to a woman named Simone, enriched with a handwritten quatrain on the title page, as well as two original drawings showing a mischievous moon causing a man to stumble by unbalancing him with the point of his crescent on the title page, a green and orange flower growing on a mound of earth shaped like a buttock.

New edition adorned with 44 drawings by L. Benett and a map. It is only in 1907 that the insert illustrations appeared for this title. Catalogue BC in-fine.

Spine very lightly faded, gold on the interior of the badge on the first board a little faded, two lower corners flattened. A loose section, a corner piece missing skillfully filled on the title page and a marginal restoration of the paper on page 33.
Le Rayon vert (The Green Ray) is a sentimental novel inspired by the Scottish legend of the eponymous phenomenon: it allows those who have observed it to see clearly in their hearts as well as in those of others.

Early 20th-century binding in black morocco-backed boards with corners. Spine with four raised bands, featuring three mosaic compartments adorned with tawny morocco onlays and two tawny morocco lettering-pieces, gilt fillets. Top edge gilt. Minor traces of rubbing.
Original wrappers and spine preserved.
A very handsome copy, perfectly fresh.

There was also a “talk on Max Jacob” by Paul Dermée and performances of works by Louis Durey: two pieces for piano: “Neige” and “Carillons” by Marcelle and Germaine Meyer, four epigrams by Theocritus and three poems by Petronious by Pierre Bertin and a string quartet composed by Madame Jourdan-Morhange, Mlle F. Capelle, Mr Jarecki and Mr Delgrange.
