Very rare first edition of this pamphlet issued by the Sacred Congregation of Propaganda Fide, recounting the martyrdom of several Catholic missionaries in Tonkin in 1837 and 1838.

Modern binding in half mottled tan calf, smooth spine ruled in gilt, date and place gilt at foot, longitudinal spine label, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, original wrappers preserved.
