Commentary on the psalms by the famous cardinal Bellarmini (1542-1621) who was very influential in Rome through his talent for controversy and his theological knowledge. He was consequently employed as a determining instrument to defeat the protestants, it was he who would prosecute Giordano Bruno, and forbid Galileo to cease teaching the heliocentric system. His commentaries and his ardent defense of the faith under cover of great eloquence were much appreciated.
