"Brussels, August 21 [1869]. The verses on The Man Who Laughs , are very beautiful. Do you want to be good enough to give this to me from the author? I keep his initials for him, although I have thought I recognized. Did Mr. Châtelain receive his [illegible] copy ? Are you still receiving Le Rappel exactly ? You know my grape is ripening for you. If Mr. Lemaout and Rimmel, wanted to accompany you in October, they would be welcome . Cordial shake hand , VH "
