Edition consisting of a reprint of the Didot 1795 edition, revised and expanded by Anatole de Montaiglon and illustrated with works by Jean-Honoré Fragonard.
Half brown morocco bindings with corners, spines slightly faded with five raised bands outlined in black fillets, marbled paper boards, combed paper endpapers and pastedowns, top edges gilt.
Minor rubbing to foot of spine of first volume which shows pale dampstaining to heads of final leaves as well as a paper loss to head of final pastedown, some light foxing.
A handsomely presented copy.
