Bound in half black morocco with bands, smooth spine decorated with four horizontal bands of brown mosaic morocco ending on the covers with a pattern of gilt half-circles evoking the clasps of ancient books, the spine further adorned with pieces of red, brown and silver mosaic morocco depicting a dagger thrust into a book surrounded by a pool of blood, moiré-effect paper boards, moiré-effect paper endpapers and pastedowns, covers and spine preserved, gilt edges.
